The purpose of this Level 2 Award in Mentoring (QCF) is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding in the importance of mentoring, carrying out mentoring sessions and the ability to reflect on one's own performance when carrying out mentoring activities. Learners will understand the relationship between mentor and mentee, the potential barriers to developing that relationship, and more.

There is no specific entry requirement. Learners will need to have Minimum Core Skills in literacy, numeracy & IT skills in order to successfully complete, as they will need to achieve the minimum core requirement of personal skills in these areas.

Initial assessment of minimum core of personal skills in English, Mathematics and ICT must be carried out for all learners commencing the qualification and any associated needs will be recorded in appropriate learning plans.
