Internal Quality Assurance
The Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) replaces the old Internal Verifier (IV)
Overview
Everso Training offers the Internal Quality Assurer (formally known as Internal Verifier). This qualification, is designed for those in, or looking to go into assessment and internal quality assurance. It replaces the previous Assessor units (which expired in December 2010), and represents the change in approach to assessment and quality assurance practice.
TAQA Internal Verifier modules are:
• Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (Verifier)
• Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (Verifier)
• Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (Verifier) (part funded course)
This qualification incorporates all of the units above (as per 6317-41), with an additional unit which covers planning, allocation and monitoring of work done by other IQAs. It is expected that your area of responsibility would be that of managing or co-ordinating the quality assurance in your organisation, through managing the work of a team of IQAs. You may also need to develop systems and lead on visits from outside agencies such as awarding organisations.
Entry requirements
There are no formal requirements for this course, however, candidates should be working in, or working towards a role in quality assurance, in addition, it is expected that candidates would have previously achieved the 6317-31 or 6317-32 Assessors qualifications prior to starting the IQA qualifications. The theory based qualifications provide a good base for those candidates who are trying to enter into quality assurance roles. Those candidates who are already in post, wishing to complete the practical units, should have access to an assessment environment suitable for their area of expertise.
