Diploma In Education and Training
The Diploma In Education and Training (DET) replaces the old Diploma in Teaching and Learning in the Life Long Learning Sector (DTLLS).
Overview
Everso Training offers the Diploma in Education and Training (DET) programme. The Level 5 diploma extends into investigation and research into current practice theories, and models relating to education and training, as well as developing good teaching practice. The DET is an 'in-service' qualification designed for those who are working or are wishing to work as teachers/trainers in England.
Who is the qualification for?
• Candidates who work or would like to work as teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sector.
• Candidates who have just started a teacher/training role.
• Teachers/trainers who are seeking career progression in their area of work.
• Candidates who work with their learners on a one-to-one basis.
• Candidates who teach in industry.
• Candidates who are assessors and wish to achieve a teaching/training qualification.
Mandatory units:
• Teaching, learning and assessing in education and training (20 credits) Level 4
• Developing teaching, learning and assessment in education and training' (20 credits) Level 5
• Theories, principles and models in education and training (20 credits) Level 5
• Wider professional practice and development in education and training' (15 credits) Level 5
Entry requirements for DET
• Candidates must be 19+.
• Candidates wishing to undertake the DET programme must be experienced or qualified in the subject area they wish to teach at the appropriate level.
• Candidates must have access to 100 hours of teaching/training practice.
• Additionally, due to the nature of both the theory and practical assessments which students need to achieve for the DET, candidates will need good written and spoken English, i.e. the ability to read and interpret written tasks, and to write in an academic style.
• Candidates will also need to organise their work and supporting materials clearly and coherently.
• All candidates should demonstrate: Literacy and Numeracy level 2. (Overseas students should demonstrate IELTS 6.5 or higher)
